When people hear the word “downsizing,” they often assume it means selling their home and moving into something smaller. But downsizing doesn’t have to mean moving. It can simply mean creating a home and lifestyle that are easier to manage and better suited to the next stage of life. That might mean simplifying your belongings, reducing maintenance, making a few changes to improve comfort and accessibility, or rethinking how you use the space you already have. Of course, there are times when moving really is the right choice and understanding the financial and practical benefits of that decision is important, too. The goal isn’t to tell you whether you should stay or go. It’s to help you explore your options and determine what makes the most sense for you, your home, and your future.​ There isn't one right answer, and you don't have to figure it all out at once.​
